7     Minnesota Ice-Out Forecast with Dr. John Downing, Director of the Sea Grant College Program with models adaptable for any lake.  Register at itascawaters.org for a noon webinar, free.
9    16th Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby on Island Lake, ages 15 and under (kids 10 and under must be accompanied by a guardian). Free.  Bring a fishing pole and stool.  One hole provided per child. 15  Squaw Lake Fire Department hosts the annual Perch Jerkers Fishing Tournament on Round Lake, ice permitting. Use east access, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (NOTE corrected hours). Food available. $10 entry fee, kids under 10 free. Cash prizes for top ten fish.  
15  St. Urho’s Day celebration in Squaw Lake at Leino’s Pub. Decorate a float or watch the parade at 5 p.m.  More information, call the pub at (218) 659-2131.
